ABSTRACCIÓN
Se define como no figuración, la eliminación de la referencia a la realidad externa. Los artistas abstractos componen las obras a partir de formas, líneas y colores que no representan una copia de la realidad y naturaleza, sino su esencia.
Influencias: aportaciones de cultura y tradiciones antiguas como el arte islámico, el arte
primitivo, prehistórico, románico … que se habían basado en la geometrización, la simplificación y estilización de las formas.

ABSTRACTION
Figuration is defined as the removal of the reference to external reality. Abstract artists make works from shapes, lines and colors that are not a copy of reality and nature, but its essence.
Influences: contributions of culture and ancient traditions as Islamic art, art
primitive, prehistoric, romanic … which had been based on the geometrical simplification and stylization of forms.

Wassili Kandinsky (1.866 a 1.944). Partiendo del grupo Der Bauer Reiter evoluciona
hacia la abstracción con obras llenas de manchas de colores expresivos, formas irregulares con un gran ritmo y armonía. En su trayectoria abstracta se diferencian dos etapas:

Wassili Kandinsky (1866-1944). From the Der Bauer Reiter group evolves toward abstraction with works full of expressive colored stained , irregular shapes with a great rhythm and harmony. In his abstract path are two different stages:

a) desde 1910 hasta 1921. Abstracción lírica. Se basa en su libro Sobre la Espiritualidad en el Arte, donde relaciona los principios de la música y de la pintura, especialmente el concepto de ritmo. El protagonista de las obras es el color, que se extiende sobre el cuadro con gran dinamismo creando en el espectador vibraciones y sensaciones emotivas, similares a los sonidos de un instrumento.

a) from 1910 to 1921. Lyrical Abstraction. It is based on his book on Spirituality in the Arts, which relates the principles of music and painting, especially the concept of rhythm. The protagonist of the works is the color, which extends over the table with great dynamism in the viewer creating vibrations and emotional sensations, like the sounds of an instrument.

b) 1921-1944. Abstracción racionalista. Se basa en su libro Punto y línea sobre el plano, escrito a partir de los contactos con los grupos suprematistas y constructivistas rusos y de las experiencias racionalistas a partir de su trabajo en la Escuela de la Bauhaus. Sus obras presentan un rigor geométrico en las que los elementos básicos son el punto y la línea combinados con colores primarios y complementarios

b) 1921 to 1944. Rationalist abstraction. It is based on his book Point and Line on the Plane, written from contacts with Russian Constructivist and Suprematist groups and rationalists experiences from his work at the Bauhaus. His works present a geometric rigor in which the basic elements are the point and the line combined with primary and complementary colors

NEOPLASTICISMO

Se desarrolla en Holanda a partir de la revista De Stijl. Vanguardia que busca la pureza plástica total trabajando sólo con formas geométricas regulares y utilizando colores primarios y neutros. Eliminan todo lo considerado superfluo (figuras) y sólo representan lo esencial: la estructura.

Neoplasticism

Se desarrolla en Rusia. Predominio absoluto de la sensibilidad plástica pura. Predominio de la simplicidad de las formas geométricas y el uso muy limitado del color.

CONSTRUCTIVISMO Constructivism

También desarrolló en Rusia. El planteamiento del movimiento no es contrario al anterior pero hace más intervención y un programa concreto de acción política. Defendían que había que eliminar toda distinción entre las artes: la pintura y la escultura eran también construcción (y no representación) y tenían que utilizar, por tanto, los mismos materiales y los mismos procedimientos técnicos que la arquitectura, que a su vez debía ser funcinal y visual. Importancia de las «construcciones» y pinturas en relieve, que combinan e integran materiales inusuales en un espacio real (vidrio, latón, madera) tanto en soporte bidimensional como en piezas tridimensionales.
